Woman specific problems in moyamoya disease
In Japan, incidence of moyamoya disease is 1.7-1.8 times more frequent in women. There are many young patients who developed moyamoya disease in their childhood and grow up. Thus there are many moyamoya patients in their child-bearing age. They will encounter the problems in pregnancy and delivery. Many Japanese neurosurgeons have not paid much attention to these problems.
By the way, I have been questioned about the safety of pregnancy, sterile treatment, and delivery by a patient. There were no clinical data to answer the question. This is my incentive to establish this home page on moyamoya disease.
