While in Venice, Goffriller worked closely with his brother. Although his violin making skills are in general not held in as high esteem as those of Matteo, Francesco certainly showed his own innate skill and talent.
The upper bouts of this fine instrument have been cut or reduced from the original huge proportions to a smaller dimension, which has enabled the player to negotiate the shoulder of the instrument and use it for both orchestral and solo playing.
