Kazuo Okuda (Kontrabass) Born in Urawa near of Tokyo in 1952.Graduate of both the Post-and Under graduate programs at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and winner of ATAKA prize in 1974.
In 1978 won a Scholarship of Deutscher Academischer Austaush-Dienst (DAAD Germany). Semi Finalist at International Music Competition in Muenchen(Kontrabass) in 1979 and winner of special Diploma at Bucci International Music Concours in Roma(Kontrabass) in 1979. Graduate of Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Wuerzburg in Germany in 1980.Won a Scholarship and Honor-diploma in Chisiana Summerseminar in Siena.
Studies with Toshio Miyazawa,Asahiko Eguchi,Seiichi Imamura, Guenter Klaus,Franco Petracchi.

After Principal Bass at Tokyo symphonic orchestra(1975-1978), Osaka philharmonic orchestra(1980-1989), since 1989 Principal Bass at Osaka Century Orchestra.

Professor at Osaka university of Arts and A teacher at Soai university in Osaka , Aichi prefectural university of Arts and Yuhigaoka highschool.
In 2001 won the "artist on the stage"prize from the Osaka prefecture goverment.

Gave many solo-recitals in many places in Japan and also in Canada, ltaly, Korea,U.S.A..
As a soloist played with many orchestras, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Wuerzburg chamber Orchestra, Seoul Sinfonietta, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Telemann Ensemble Japan, Century Orchestra Osaka, etc.
In 1983 founded his own "Ensemble Quelle"(String Quartet plus DoubleBass and Piano) gave also many chambermusic-concerts with DoubleBass and Solo with String Quartet.
Many Solo-recordings with NHK(Japan broadcasting )Bayerischen Rundfunk and Hessischen Rundfunk in Germany.
